Deep Fried Asparagus recipe

I am not sure if asparagus is in season, but i found a lovely patch of baby asparagus in our fridge fresh from the super market! and i remembered a nice recipe i watched on Tv the other that involves frying asparagus!

SO…. I surfed teh net, and came with different ways to prepare this recipe, but 1 in particular was perfect, since it doesn’t include beer, and has simple available ingredients that sounded tasty and mostly SAFE! ๐Ÿ˜‰ i was expecting company, so it wasn’t the time to go wild in my experiment !!

start by washing the asparagus, and while wet sprinkle with 1 tbls of flour, toss and roll till asparagus is completely covered with flour. you can use more or less quantities according to how much asparagus you are preparing!

In a bowl whisk 1 egg with 1/4 cup of butter milk YES you read that right! butter milk ^__^ how fun is that! then add pinch of salt and pepper, and season with any herb you prefer to give hint of taste. i used dry rosemary.

In a separate plate combine 1 tbls of bread crumbs with 1/2 tbls of corn flower and mix with your fingers.

now dip the asparagus in the egg mixture then roll in the dry mixture of bread crumbs till completely covered. meanwhile heat some oil in a pan, and drop the asparagus once oil is hot, and deep fry it, till golden brown ๐Ÿ™‚

voila!! it tastes amazing trust me, don’t let the pictures alarm you LOL ;P

tip: this recipe can be also enjoyed with a dip of your choice, i suggest ranch dressing or simple plain yogurt
