Mango Lime sorbet in my kitchen

yesterday was a very long day! did that stop me from experimenting and preparing my first home made ice cream (technically sorbet) ever! of course not! ย ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t want to keep you waiting, i have been tweeting live from my kitchen yesterday, and i must tell you, preparing ice cream needs ALOT of patience, something i lack in the kitchen (shameful i know) ;P

I was lucky enough to have read the sacred manual of the Kenwood ice cream machine once i bought it! and noticed that you need to place the ice cream bowl in the freezer ahead of time! which i did ๐Ÿ˜‰


In a nut shell, the process of preparing the sorbet is easy and fun, and highly recommended to enjoy with your kids and family.

I decided to go with the lime sorbet recipe i mentioned in my previous post, with some modification to the ingredients according to taste.

here are the steps, super easy!:

1. In a sauce pan mix 1/2 cup of sugar & 1/3 cup of water, bring to boil till sugar dissolves, and cool the syrup. (what we call in middle east ุงู„ู‚ุทุฑ ูŠุณุชุฎุฏู… ู„ู„ุญู„ูˆูŠุงุช)

2. in a blender mix pulp of 5 mangos, the cool sugar syrup, and -according to taste- lemon juice (I used the juice of 1 lemon eq. to 1 full istikana ุงุณุชูƒุงู†ุฉ)

3. blend blend blend till mixture is nice and smooth ๐Ÿ™‚ note this mixture is basically what your final result will taste like! so make sure you taste it, and add what you like before going to the ice cream machine (the point of no return) LOL, seriously am not kidding ;P

4. finally comes the interesting part! follow the instructions of your ice cream machine. my manual simply says: switch on the machine, pour the mixture, wait between 15 and 30 min or simply till texture desired is achieved. here comes the waiting!!! i would go back and forth to the kitchen watching this smooth heavenly mixtures getting solid and ice creamy like โค heart ache!

5. once it is done yaaay ^__^ scoop into air tight container and place in freezer, or eat at once! i just had to eat it out of the container and keep the rest for tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚

how easy was that!!!!!!

use lemon zest as an added touch to the taste and presentation ๐Ÿ™‚

I got three words to say: OH MY GOD!!!!! heaven

I hope you all enjoyed this post, as much as i did ๐Ÿ™‚ย I must say that making ice cream/ sorbet is not only yummy, but also fun and joyful and super easy, I highly recommend trying it out ๐Ÿ™‚

    Ohhhhhhh looks delish!! Nex time try chocolate/coffee/coconut mix- use coconut milk

      oh yes i was just thinking about the exact same thing! am thinking of also adding choco chip pieces ๐Ÿ˜‰ YUM
